The Graduate Student Internships for Career Exploration Program

• GSICE is a program at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) that allows graduate students to do internships outside of academic research.

• Internships are open to students in all of the basic and biomedical science graduate programs at UCSF: Bioengineering; Biological and Medical Informatics; Biomedical Sciences; Biophysics; Chemistry and Chemical Biology; Developmental and Stem Cell Biology;  Neuroscience; Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacogenomics; and Tetrad (Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, Genetics).

• Students eligible for internships are advanced graduate students (at minimum having passed all their doctoral qualifying exams).

• Internships are full-time for a period of 3 months and typically occur during one academic quarter.

The GSICE program is a collaboration between UCSF’s School of Medicine, the Office of Career and Professional Development and the Graduate Division.
